 Mr. Angelo Castucci

Mr. Angelo Castucci was born and raised in Newark where he graduated from McKinley Elementary school and Barringer High School.   As a young adult he was very active in St. Lucy’s Parish.  He attended Newark State College (Kean University), Seton Hall University and Rutgers University.  He earned a tenured position as an elementary school teacher in the Newark Public Schools teaching 5^th and 7^th grades.

At Essex County College he was appointed Director of Grants responsible for writing, submitting and implementing state and federally funded grant proposals.  He also worked as Administrative Assistant to the College President.

Returning to the Newark system, Mr. Castucci taught 8^th grade and served as Language Arts Staff Developer before becoming Vice Principal.  He was active on District-wide Curriculum Committees and Professional Development Advisory Boards.  He retired from the Newark system in 2004. 

In 2005, he became Principal of the Academy of St. Benedict Elementary School in Newark’s ironbound section.  Mr. Castucci was instrumental in bringing about the successful merger of the Academy of St. Benedict into the newly organized Ironbound Catholic Academy of Newark.

Mr. Castucci and his wife Gloria, have a son and one grandson.  They reside in Livingston and are active in St. Philomena’s Parish.
