Study Buddies provides the opportunity for student-on-student tutoring.
Typically, an upperclass student in grades 6, 7 or 8 is paired with a lower
grade student to meet weekly before school in the cafeteria. In general, parents
send their younger children with review-type work: spelling & vocabulary words,
flash cards, money counting, chapter test reviews, time telling etc. The weekly
commitment is recognized for a Service Project Award, given at the end of the
school year. As a senior study buddy, you will have the opportunity to share
your time and talents with younger students. As a junior study buddy, you have
the opportunity to review one-on-one with an uppeclassman at HTIS.
