It really does. We cannot run our biggest fund-raiser of the year without the help of our parents and middle schoolers. Please use the flier in this week’s envelope to let us know when you or your 7th or 8th grader can lend a hand helping in a tour house or stuffing gift bags. Or just email firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us you’re willing to help. Remember, there is time to both work a shift and still enjoy the tour. With your help we will have a wonderful day, welcoming hundreds of people through six amazing homes on Saturday, Oct. 13.
Tickets are available for the House tour online at Westfieldkitchentour.com, in person at Barons Drug Store , The Town Book Store, and Christoffers Flowers , at the school office, or via the attached order form.

From the Office:
School Photos and Shutterfly: Picture Day was hosted by Lifetouch this week. Lifetouch, the school portrait company, was bought this year by the well-known photo company, Shutterfly. If you placed your order for photos online with Lifetouch you received a confirmation email AND a unique code in a separate email from Lifetouch for a FREE Shutterfly 8×8 photo book.
The book code, beginning with the letters LTAD, is valid until Jan 31 2019. You may only use ONE code with that starting sequence per Shutterfly account. If you have an extra code or if you don’t intend using your code please consider donating it back to the school.
The codes can be traded within Shutterfly forums for photos, posters, stickers, cards, and more. The free items will be used to support teachers, decorate noticeboards, and to promote school events.
Please write Shutterfly donation on the subject line. Briege Lennon/ Gorham has offered to manage the Shutterfly deals for the school. Shutterfly is a great supporter of schools and we would like to avail of as many of their deals as possible in the current school year.

IMPORTANT: PRESS RELEASE/ MARKETING POLICY: We at Holy Trinity School are proud of our students’ successes and embrace the idea of sharing them within our school, church and local communities. This sharing is a way of spreading the good news of HTS within our community.
As media is so fluid these days, it has become almost impossible to administer a press release policy. Therefore, we will assume we have your permission to include your child(ren)’s names (first name only), grades and photos for the school web site, press releases, Facebook announcements, marketing materials and video productions (Drama, Christmas & spring events), as appropriate. As always, the protection of our children is tantamount so personal information such as your home address or contact information (phone, e-email, etc.) will never be shared.
LAST CALL: If you have any concerns about this policy, please contact Dr. Ellis, or, if would like to opt-out of any or all of the above media, please contact the office before October 1st. If we do not hear from you by October 1st, we will assume we have your permission to include your family’s information.
Protecting God’s Children: all school volunteers and class trip chaperones are required to complete the Protecting God’s Children program which includes attending a sexual abuse awareness workshop, completing a volunteer application and criminal background check, and signing a code of conduct/policy document. To begin the process, please go to rcan.org and register for a workshop being held throughout the Archdiocese. You will then be prompted to begin your criminal background check and read/sign the policy document. After you attend the workshop, please return the certificate of attendance to the school office. Your initial training is good for 5 years. After the 5th year, you can attend another workshop or train online, annually. (If you need retraining, please contact the school office and advise if you want to attend another workshop or train online.) Background checks are repeated every 5 years if you are still volunteering at Holy Trinity.

If you a returning family and want to volunteer, and have never completed the program, please contact the school office for the paperwork and use the link above to register for a workshop and begin the background check process.

Thank you to Melissa Orzoria and the rest of the committee for a successful Movie Night! It was a lot of fun for all who attended!
The HSA needs to make some changes to the events calendar. Trunk or Treat and FallFest is moving from the Mountainside Campus to the Westfield Campus due to scheduling conflicts with the fields. Also the HSA has decided to cancel the Sip & Shop event for Friday, November 16th. Due to the exciting news and the renovation of the gym, the gym will be under construction and unavailable. The committee is already planning for 2019!
The HSA is looking for chairs for the following committees. If you are interested in chairing or co-chairing these events, please reach out to Gretchen Byrne (firstname.lastname@example.org).
