Congratulations to our 8th Grade Team who won first place in the Roselle Catholic Scholastic Olympics last week! The Scholastic Olympics is an academic competition sponsored by Roselle Catholic High School for eighth grade students. A team of seventeen Holy Trinity School students competed in the 47th Annual Scholastic competition winning 1st Place for the thirteenth time among two hundred students from fourteen area schools.
Subject area winners were:

- History: 1st Michael Murphy, 2nd Madeline Ahlbeck
- Math: Parker Smith, 2nd Kelly Troczynski
- Religion: 3rd Maggie Murray
- Spelling: 1st Kevin Cull, 2nd Mariana Morin
- Current Events: 1st Michael Preite
Completing the Scholastic Team were: Art, Kandice Rodriguez-Hernandez, Sophia Salazar; Current Events, William Oliver; Religion, Phoebe Costalos; Science, Thomas Lezynski, Jack Zellner-Phelps; Forensics, Jonathan Scalia.

The fall volleyball season wraps up this weekend with playoff games on Saturday, November 10, at St. Agnes gym in Clark.
The JV Team, made up of 13 girls in grades 4 to 6, will play at 9am. The Varsity Team, with its 9 players in the 7th grade, will play at 3 p.m. All are welcome to cheer on the girls.
The coaches are also pleased to announce that three varsity players: Josie Allen, Alex Brenner, and Gabby Zuretti, tried out and were offered spots on competitive local club volleyball teams. Their success and the great strides all the players made this year in improving their game is a testament to their dedication and hard work at practice.
The co-ed winter season starts in January and registration is now open at htisnjsports.siplay.com.

The Mountainside Campus has Classroom Observation Days on Monday and Tuesday, November 12 and 13th, from 9:15am to 10:45pm. Everyone is invited to attend . Please share this opportunity with family and friends!

SKILLS NEEDED: A desire to help bring God’s love closer to the children. Organizational abilities and experience running activities with children a plus. Sainthood not required 🙂

The Westfield Municipal Alliance and Westfield High School DREAM Team have announced the 6th Annual Palooza contests in celebration of Red Ribbon Week . The aim of Red Ribbon Week is to highlight drug prevention education & advocacy.
The Theme of this year’s contest is: Westfield, We have Better Things to do; Healthy Choices, Everyday Choices
At the Westfield Public Schools, the Art Palooza contest is for grades 1-5, the Poetry Palooza contest is for grades 6-8, (and the PSA Palooza contest is for grades 9-12.) The deadline is November 20th.
In past years, Holy Trinity School has participated in the Palooza contest and many Holy Trinity students are past finalists.
If your child in Grades 6 – 8 is registered to participate in HTS Basketball they must have a valid sports physical on file in the nurse’s office. This is a NJ State requirement. Students cannot participate in practices or games if this requirement is not met.
Attention Pre-K Parents: The State of NJ requires an annual flu shot for all Pre-K students up to age 59 months. Students must receive the flu vaccine by 12/31/18 in order to continue attending HTS in January 2019. Students who do not meet this requirement will be excluded from school until the flu shot is given.

At the Westfield Campus, next week orders received by 2:30pm Tuesday, Nov. 13, will be filled by Thursday, as usual. Last chance to get cards before Thanksgiving will be the week of Thanksgiving! Orders received by 2:30pm on Monday, November 19, will be filled by Wednesday, Nov. 21.
At the Mountainside Campus, during Thanksgiving week, cards will be available for direct purchase at the Mountainside lobby on Wednesday, November 21 from 8:50am – 9:20am, as is usual on Wednesdays. (Westfield families may come too!)

The Little Town of Christmas
Seeking responsible 7th and 8th graders to serve as STAGE CREW for the Christmas play. Rehearsals are every afternoon from Monday, November 26th through Thursday, December 6th, at the HTS Mountainside Campus (Pollard Hall) from 3:45 to 5:45pm. Live performance dates are Friday, December 7th, at 7:30pm and Saturday, December 8th, at 1:00pm. Spots for crew will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
